
We all love to sleep and as we grow older that bond with our bed just becomes better. Most of us hate the sound of our alarm going off in the morning and do what everyone else does, hit the snooze button.
We often get up late due to that and even when we do get up early we often feel sleepy and can’t find a way to get rid of that feeling. Here, are some tips and tricks you can use to get rid of that sleepy feeling in the morning and wake up fresh.
Drink a glass of water
When your alarm goes off in the morning, get up and drink a glass of water. Make this a habit as it will disrupt your natural routine of switching off your alarm then going back to bed. You can even add a teaspoon of honey and lemon to make it a good morning cocktail. It will help you get up faster and also boost your metabolism.

Get a loud alarm clock
The sound you hear that should wake you up should be a loud one. If your alarm is soft then you won’t be waking up fast. If you live alone it is a good idea to invest in a very loud alarm clock that will wake you up quickly in the morning. It has been reported that people wake up when they hear loud sounds.

Keep a window open
Not only will this allow fresh air to enter the room but it will also allow sunlight to come in when it is morning time. This sunlight will wake you up by disturbing your sleep. Also, do not wear an eye mask when you sleep. This way if your alarm does not do the trick the sunlight will.

Do not hit the snooze button
When you hear the alarm go off try to prevent yourself from hitting the snooze button, it will be very hard to do at first but then soon you will get used to not doing it. Try to wake up the moment you hear your alarm go off.

Use an annoying tone for your alarm
What we often do is keep a soothing melody or our favorite song as a ringtone for our alarm. This is not a good thing. We should keep the most annoying sounds or songs as an alarm tone which will disturb you in the morning. If the first thing you hear in the morning is something annoying, you will not want to go back to sleep.

Keep your alarm near the door
This is something not all of us can do as most of us use the alarm app on our phones. What you should do is by an old school alarm clock and keep it near the door. This way you will have to leave your bed and walk to it to turn it off. This is a great way to get rid of your morning sleepiness.

Stretch out
The best way to break your sleep in the morning is by performing actions. Even the simple act of stretching will break you from your need to go back to sleep. You can make it a morning ritual to wake up and stretch which is something that you will benefit from greatly thought out the rest of the day.

Wash your face
This is something even experts recommend. Wake up in the morning and the first thing you will want to do is use the toilet. While in there you can splash some water on your face. This will awaken your senses and get rid of the tiredness from your eyes. This is a great way to get yourself ready to face the rest of the day.

Do jumping jacks
If you really want a good workout and an easy but effective way to break your sleepiness in the morning, do jumping jacks. Wake up, wash your face and then find a good spot to do this simple exercise. Jumping jacks will not only get your blood flowing but it will also make you feel hungry.

Stand near the window
When you wake up take a few moments to stand by your window and breathe in the morning air. This is good for your lungs and will also help get rid of the sleep and tiredness from your body. This is the reason why most people tend to go out for morning walks during this time. The air is very refreshing.

Have a hot cup of coffee
Nothing can get rid of sleepiness like a hot cup of coffee. If you have one of those automated coffee makers in your home you can set it for 10 minutes after your alarm goes. This way you can wake up and by the time you finish your morning routine in the toilet your coffee will be ready.
